- Guy Montag- He is the third generation of fireman in his
family, but decides to quit when he starts to question his job. He is married to Mildred Montag, but she leaves him after
he becomes interested in books becuase is he looking for meaning in his life through them. Montag becomes an Intellectual.

- Clarisse McClellan- She is a 17 years old
girl, who is unique and thinks about things that others overlook. She is an outcast from the world around her. She is
shows great interest in forbidden books and is later killed by a fast moving vehicle. (“‘Are you happy?’
she said.-pg. 10)
- Mildred Montag- Mildred is Montag's wife. She is
obsessed with watching TV and will not talk to her Montag because of it. She is not Beautiful and decides to leave Montag
after he decide to quit his job and investigate books.
- Captain Beatty – He is the Firestation captain.
He is well read although he has a great dislike of books.
- Faber
– He is a retired english Professor and now Montag's teacher. He owns a few books of his own.
- Mrs. Phelps – She is one for Mildred friends. Her
third husband was sent of to war.
- Mrs.
Bowels – She is Mildred friend. She had three husbands, all who died. She also has two children
- Granger- Leader of the Intellectuals.
He is determined to save book through the time of Book Burning.
